The Coeta and Donald Barker Foundation
proudly carries on the Barker’s philanthropic legacy.
A private grantmaking foundation, The Coeta and Donald Barker Foundation has a legacy of giving, from Eugene, Oregon, to Rancho Mirage, California.
Mr. and Mrs. Barker established their Foundation in 1977, in Eugene, Oregon which was their permanent home. Don was a prominent leader in the Oregon timber industry.
After his passing in 1980, Coeta divided her time between homes in Santa Barbara and Rancho Mirage, in Southern California. Ultimately, Rancho Mirage would become her primary residence. When she passed away in 2005, the Foundation set up a formal office in Rancho Mirage and that is where it remains headquartered today.
The Barkers’ interests are reflected in the mission of the Foundation. It funds registered 501(c) 3 nonprofit organizations devoted to education, culture, health care, and social services/civic. Mr. and Mrs. Barker were particularly interested in helping young people!
Applications for grants are by invitation only from the Foundation’s five-member Board of Trustees. No unsolicited applications are accepted. Letters of Intent/Inquiry (LOI) will be considered for registered 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organizations in our funding areas.
